Television writers in Hollywood and Manhattan go on the picket line (CBC link). I remember Miami Vice and Crime Story getting incredibly crappy during the Writers's Strike of '88. You'd think those shows could write themselves but you'd be wrong.

You’ve probably heard / read a bunch of stuff covering this ground, but thought this 20-min. listen pretty good on how the whole situation’s developed.
I handle the Freelance Solidarity Project account on Mastodon at present. (Just posted solidarity statement half an hour ago.) Interesting place from which to be observing. Participating in fact. Funny! Last time WGA struck, 15 years ago, I was essentially paying no attention. Things change.
