The Sex Pistols: Filthier and Furiouser
Is it possible to be a 40-year-old white anglo-male and not love The Sex Pistols? I think not. (Thank-you, Andrew)
Do you think Johnny Rotten might make a better replacement for Howard Stern than the miserable Dave Lee Roth?
Still: second saddest rock moment must have been that 'Pistols tour at forty. First is any current photograph of balding Angus Young, still in his shorts.
Johnny Rotten has it all over David Lee Roth. It seems an endless river of beer and gin don't have the same terrible effects on the brain that bourbon and cocaine (and who knows what else) do. The Pistols' fat bastard reunion was indeed a sad and wheezy spectacle, but I was a little gratified to see them call it the "Filthy Lucre Tour" -- any bone looks good to a starving dog, I suppose.
