Eglinton Theatre, fall 1995

We met Dan and his beautiful young wife at the Eglinton to see how Pierce Brosnan as the new James Bond.  I thought Brosnan was pretty good, actually -- enough to get us back into the theatre to see James Bond.

The Egliton is also where we watched Kate Winslett and Leonardo DiCaprio in Titanic. There was an intermission for that, I believe.

The Eglinton -- one of Toronto's last Movie Palaces.

Have never managed to see Titanic, but you’ve got Celine Dion sounding forth in my head now. Will be seeking some other sounds to drown (pardon the phrase) her out momentarily.

A little odd to be seeing this post, today, just as all the top headlines are for stories I’ve been too busy to read about this ill-fated sub voyage connected with the wreck and obsession it’s still drawing 111 years on.

I had a Brigades buddy who said his grandparents had missed sailing on the Titanic by that much. We razzed him about it but he was insistent.
