"Scary Mary" Poppins

I laughed, but the hairs on the back of my neck actually stood up the first time I saw this "trailer" for "Scary Mary" Poppins:

I think this might have been the inspiration for that other English nanny, Nanny McPhee.

While keeping my grandson a few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of watching Nanny McPhee multiple times...over and over and over.

But, Emma Thompson is a delight in this wicked-er version of Mary Poppins.

Wow, that is pretty scary

cp - I'll watch anything with Emma Thompson in it, even when she's wearing a heap of latex on her face and a Karl Malden nose. Multiple McPhee viewings for your grandson, you say? Hm. I kinda remember being sweet on Ms. Andrews when I was his age...

ジョエル - the kid up the chimney was especially chilling, no?

Okay, Prajer... you wasted 2 hours of my day. I watched this thing, laughed so hard I about ralphed, and had to go tell our resident horror-movie buff (Dave Canfield) about it. This led to a lengthy discussion of what could be done with Oliver Twist along these lines... You know, the porridge scene where he plaintively holds his bowl out to the House Master and sez

"More, sir?"

The Master replies, "MORE?! Did you say MORE!!!?"

From there, we came up with a number of quite gruesome endings, some including Arnold S., others from the movie "Scarface" -- "Lemme introduce you to my little friend!"

I guess you had to be here. At any rate, you owe me two hours, buddy.

I've wathced that about five times since you posted it. That is terrific! Maybe the best one I've seen (though Brokeback to the Future almost made me pee my pants).
