I'm Your Fan -- Just Don't Make Me Watch This!

I do like Leonard Cohen, but I've got to say: this does nothing for me. It resembles Dylan's birthday bash, minus the welcome dash of controversy and unpredictability. It's a big gala event that sounds like the cat's whiskers when it gets mention in the TV Guide, but after all the Big Stars and Beautiful People finish congratulating the Guest of Honour (and each other) the actual highlight ends up being the ten minutes where the Artist finally drags himself onstage, sits down on a stool and sings three songs. But hey -- I'm happy for Leonard.

I suppose somebody has to be happy for Leonard, no? He seems so incapable of managing that himself...

Me, I got stuck watching an hour-long paen to Sir Sean - Shur Shawn, as we say - and it took forever until someone, Eddie Izzard, finally remarked that his is the most impershonated voish in all the land of Great Britain. Well, the top half at least; the southern half is better devoted to Michael Caine, though truth be told we all do both!

Do people in Canada do Leonard Cohen impersonations? I think we should be told...

Hmmm - not really, but I do believe if a Canadian household has a guitar, chances are pretty good someone in that family knows how to play "Suzanne".

Though now that I think of it, his singing is probably among the most satirized by Canucklehead comics. His, and Neil Young's.

If it wasn't for your Cohen-centric blogging, WP, I'd have assumed that Leonard Cohen is dead. Yes, even though you just recently wrote about him..I though he had died in the interim. From your photo, it's pretty obvious Leonard C. is the best-looking corpse around. Even when he's still alive.

Now I know Bob Dylan is still alive, but he trul looks dead. Perhaps dead-Tired. But dead nonetheless.

I'll leave Keith Richards out of this comment, well, at least until he's come back to his senses. Falling out of a palm tree. I'm sotty, I'm still laughing.

...That's sorry, not sotty. I'm assuming Keith was sotty when he was atop that tree.
