Technicality

I'll be posting my Menno-centric musings (like the one below) on Whisky Prajer (the page you're looking at), and archiving it here.

That's the plan for now. If it changes, I'll let you know.

  1. The filters for Blogger commenting seem to be especially prohibitive of late. Joel writes:

"I like this plan. It makes it much easier to just check one blog for the updates then to try and keep track of several.

I'm also interested to see how this series develops. I've had my own issues with my church over the years, and could probably do a similar series, but I want to see your take first.

A note on the previous post: I'm not sure if some of the gaps are going to be filled in later in the series, but it was not clear to me from your quote that the preacher was talking about Christians flexing their strength in the culture wars. From the brief part you quoted, I initially thought he was talking about Christians doing more to help the poor. But then after reading your reaction to him, I'm guessing that it must have been clear in the context of the sermon what he meant. I'm no longer religious, but I'm not against Christians doing more along the lines of social justice or liberation theology. If they want to do more to enforce social conservatism, though, that's a different story. I guess my point being I'd like it to be clearer what they want to do before I react to it."

  2. Joel -

First Paul cheers me on from the sidelines, now you: who'd have thought post-Christian Reformers could be so cautious?

Seriously, though, I am gratified for the feedback, and wish it were easier. This guy's angle was a step or two removed from the "culture wars" (which don't strike me as being quite as big a deal to most Canadian Fundagelicals as they do to their spiritual sibs to the South). I'll (try to) say more in a bit.

  3. "Grateful for" or "gratified by" ... geez, I need another cup of coffee.
