“he”/“him” A Canadian Prairie Mennonite from the '70s & '80s, a Preacher’s Kid, slowly recovering from a hemorrhagic stroke. I am not — yet — in a 12-Step Program.
This really, really stinks. This week, the Grim Reaper seems to have overextended his stay in Canada. 56 years old is simply too young, although, via your links, it seemed no moss gre under Mr. Quarrington. His 56 years were short but quite full.
On another note, this post pricked my conscience. I have a book of yours I'll be returning shortly, sir. King Leary is yearning for home.
That is a lovely photo of a very lovely woman. And you're right about Mr. Q: when I read the list of "things done" I had to give my head a shake. For a guy whose prose seemed so relaxed, he was not much in the habit of just kickin' back.
The last link is good, too. Another comparison to Richler, albeit not quite so flattering as my own. But then one has to be careful when invoking Mordecai's name.
