Youthful Desires UNLEASHED!

That's right: buy now and avoid the rush! (The next thing I'll be unleashing is a host of promotional e-mails, so brace yourself.) I should add that I rated the book "suitable for teens" so that my storefront and the sample pages are accessible to everyone. But I think it's only fair to say the book contains some rather salty material that parents (I hope) would filter or (better yet) discuss with their teens. Exercise your own discretion, or drop me an e-mail of inquiry.

Excerpts:

Footnote To A Bread Recipe

Kissing Einstein

Tar And Feathers

Mike Mentzer, R.I.P.

Youthful Desires

The Spirit of '76

  1. Dear Sir,

Kindly remove my e-mail address from your list. I will have none of your spam!

Besides, I just bought your book. Now I get to sit by the postbox!

  2. Good job with the cover! If there is one thing I've learnt about books...

  3. WP,
Any possible way of obtaining, through exchange of coinage of course, copies signed by the alleged author? Or can we plagiarize his name ourselves, using fountain pens, of course, to disguise the fakery?

I'm sure the e-mail campaign will include enjoyable missives, so I'd like to be left on the list, if you don't mind.

  4. scott - no spam? Then what sort of e-mail could you possibly hope I'll send you?!

tr - while Jessica D'eall's cover is much better than I hoped for, I do believe the contents are worthy.

dv - I'm working on the personally autographed option. When my box 'o books arrives, I'll figure out the shipping cost and let you (or anyone else interested) know what they're looking at.

It's here! And better than Jack in the Shining!

  6. Hey — I didn't get any spam. Where do I get on the spam list?

  7. My e-mail blitz has been carried out - everyone here (and plenty more) should have been notified by now (except for scott - we aim to please, sir!). I've already received my first customer service complaint - apparently the surge in Lulu traffic jammed up the "shopping cart" options, preventing "check out"!

Waitaminnit ... why am I getting excited about that?

  8. Oh all right, send me spam.

I just like hearing from you!

Congratulations! This is wonderful news. Should I buy the book now and submit it for autographing later, or wait to purchase it already signed?

  10. i am very excited to read this collection of stories. they remind me of 70's fiction; painted poignantly and wordfully by the authour who is close to my own age and of similar politics as i imagine. i like this skillfull, feeling, honest writing. I have to buy a copy because i need to know what might happen between these people.

  11. searchie - It could be a while before I reappear in NYC (20 years and counting, I'm afraid). For those readers whose locales I won't be visiting, but who still desire the personal treatment, I am indeed mailing autographed copies. I'll post the "autograph" cost once I've figured it out.

cria - hello, stranger! I'll be sure to let you know when the local book launch takes place.

  12. Rowdiness, brains, and a tormented sense of piety run amok in this collection of stories from one of the blogosphere's most charming intellects.

Whoever's writing your book blurbage, you're not paying him/her enough. Great stuff!

    Congratulations!

  13. And let's not forget this: "from one of the blogosphere's most charming intellects".

Who writes this stuff? Your mom?

  14. ?!? Would a scottish mother write such claptrap about her son? Give the lady a little credit, Bearded.

  15. Ms. Lulu has informed me today that she has put the book in a plain brown envelope and mailed it my way.

A muted roar from this end of the earth.

  16. Hey, me too - autographs (at premium prices) forthcoming!

  17. "(at premium prices)"
Hey, Tat would love you for that....NOT.
