If you need a translation, the words in question are: "Last Day of School" "Party" and "Crokinole Day" -- the latter being of particular significance, because after considerable hectoring and cajoling the girls have agreed to play with me. It was either that, or a spelling bee (a weekly event which seems to be in the cards this summer...).
'last day of scole' This is perfectly good spelling in, say, the 15th or 16th century. What have you got these kids reading anyway? : D
ReplyDeletePerhaps you should also introduce the girls to ping-pong and gardening to accompany the impending spelling bees. Then next census you could list your ethnicity as Asian/Mennonite...

ReplyDeleteTR - ping-pong is a stretch, but gardening isn't entirely out of the question. Lots of weeds to be taken care of...
