Resolutions

'Tis the season, after all. And the impulse, so far as we can name it, is toward making healthier choices -- right?

It seems to me -- feels to me, really -- like one healthier choice should be to opt more for the printed word and somewhat less for on-line content. Here's what a dinosaur I am: well over 90% of my on-line time is devoted to reading. So far as I'm concerned, the interweb is the new public library, in a way. All those magazines, with POVs that run counter to my own. Must read. Of course, it doesn't take too long before I feel insulted by what I've encountered, thus sending me on the search for sympathetic voices raised in a chorus of thoughtful response.

But there are many forms of insult; devote enough time and energy to the people who ought to have your back, and you'll discover exactly what I mean and return to your corner to lick your wounds.

The corner by the bed is where I keep my books. So, more page-turnin', less link-clickin'.

Such is the intention, at any rate. As for this blog, I intend to keep last year's resolution and update it on a weekly basis, at the least.

You're a sweetheart for reading -- thank you, and happy new year!

I love how your books are spilling over. I need to read more books... my time is being stolen by my phone. I feel robbed. I'm the one in control, though! We'll see what happens.

It's always the phone, isn't it? Good luck with that, Su!
