Here's a rough sketch of the cover for my forthcoming book -- artistry courtesy of the talented and lovely Jessica D'Eall:

a pregnant pause before I say, "Can't wait for the delivery!"

A very clever cover, indeed. Compliments to Ms. D'Eall.

Nice cover. Will it be in black and white?

AC - Jess tells me she's "having fun with colour". I can't wait.

I can't wait, either!

So, do your like Really Good Friends buy theirs and get a special inscription from the author?

Oh, yes. Darrell and the LBD -- perfect together! I must have an inscribed copy (of the book, that is; not the LBD.) What kind of shoes is she wearing, pray tell?

WP,
Sounds to me (well, really, "Reads to me.."), as if you'll have to set up an alternate way of ordering your book since there's a queue already for the "Signed by author" version.

I'd also think about contracting a masseuse, specifically one who specializes in hands and arms. All that signing might produce tightness. And that's one thing your readers don't want to do. Cramp your style.

So, where do I send the money? To Lulu.com or some lockbox deposit account in Ontario?

An unforeseen complication. I wonder if Margaret Atwood rents out her "Frankenhand"? Clearly a little strategizing is in order (autographed bookplates, anyone?). As for the LBD's footware, you, Searchie hardly need to ask!

Great fun, to see a cover being realized!

Curious to know whether the talented & lovely Ms D'Eall has work viewable elsewhere online.

re: work on-line, the answer is "not yet". Be nice to see more, wouldn't it?

Cool! I'm in the queue for the signing too.

Stories, eh?
